Akiane Kramarik, the artist who gained international recognition at age 8 for painting a portrait of Jesus, has recounted a childhood disappearance that sparked a search by her family, neighbors, and police. According to Kramarik, she vanished for nearly seven hours, leading her family and authorities to fear a possible kidnapping.
In an interview on the "Hang Out with Sean Hannity" podcast, Kramarik described her experience, saying she felt her body "zoom out" before everything went black. She recalled having an eagle's-eye perspective, seeing her family and their dogs below, and experiencing a sense of time dilation. Kramarik's family and neighbors searched for her, and her photo was displayed in the town.
Kramarik said she was 5 years old when the incident occurred in Missouri, and that the experience lasted longer than the nearly seven hours she was missing. During that time, she claimed to have seen extraordinary sights and received knowledge from God. Her parents told her that the elapsed time was approximately six and a half to seven hours.
Kramarik's account is one of several spiritual experiences she has described from her childhood, a period also marked by her exceptional artistic talent. Her painting "Prince of Peace," a portrait of Jesus, helped propel her to international recognition as a child prodigy. The experience, she said, had a lasting impact on her and her family, prompting her parents to reconsider their nonreligious beliefs.
Kramarik's story has drawn attention to her claims of spiritual experiences, which have been a part of her public persona since childhood.
