According to her head of security, the news of her death was announced on Instagram on Tuesday. Parton's career spanned over six decades, during which she released numerous hit songs, including "Jolene," "9 to 5," and "I Will Always Love You."

Her sister, Freida Parton, had also requested prayers for her last October, stating that she hadn't been feeling her best.
Parton's personal life was marked by a 58-year marriage to Carl Dean, who passed away in March 2025. The couple did not have any children.
