A 31-year-old father of two has drowned after being swept out to sea while attempting to untangle a seagull from his fishing line in the Florida Panhandle. Stone Romberg, an Atlanta area native, was fishing at his home when he noticed the bird caught in his line. He swam out to try and help, but the hook and the bird became stuck to his hand as he tried to free the bird.

As Romberg attempted to swim back to shore, an ocean current carried him further out to sea, where he tragically drowned. Romberg was a manager at a local condominium complex, where he was well-known for his kind heart and willingness to help others.

A GoFundMe set up for his family has raised over $138,000, with many expressing their shock and sadness at his passing. Romberg is survived by his wife and two young daughters, who relied on him for financial support. He will be deeply missed by his community, who remember him for his kindness and generosity.

Romberg's workplace has shared a tribute to him, saying he will be remembered for his kind heart and hard work. He was also an avid fan of SEC football and the Atlanta Braves.
