The Rev. Franklin Graham has spoken about the toll his father's extensive ministry took on their family, recalling a poignant moment when he failed to recognize his father after months apart. Graham, the president and CEO of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, shared the memory on Sean Hannity's podcast, "Hang Out with Sean Hannity." According to Graham, his father Billy Graham had been away for six months, traveling to Australia, a journey that required multiple stops and lengthy layovers in Hawaii and Fiji.

Graham explained that the trip was made even more challenging by the limited air travel options available at the time. "You would fly to Hawaii, then you'd stay a couple of days, then you'd fly to Fiji and stay a couple of days, and then you're going down to Sydney or Melbourne or wherever you're going," he recalled. When his father finally returned home, Graham said he and his siblings didn't recognize him.

The incident reportedly "hurt" Billy Graham, who spent decades traveling the globe to preach the Gospel and became one of the most influential figures of the 20th century. Franklin Graham has followed in his father's footsteps, teaching the message of God's word around the world and serving as a prominent voice on matters of the Christian faith.

Graham's conversation with Hannity also touched on his unwavering faith in Christ and the influence of the Graham family's ministry. The interview is available on "Hang Out with Sean Hannity" on various streaming platforms.
