Lindsay Clancy, 36, is on trial for the murder of her three young children, Cora, Dawson, and Callan, who were found strangled at the family's home in January 2023. The prosecution has concluded its case, and the defense is now presenting its arguments, suggesting that Clancy was experiencing postpartum psychosis at the time of the killings.

A mother of six, Bethany Mandel, has expressed concern that the three children who were killed have been largely forgotten in the midst of the trial. Mandel notes that while there have been hundreds of people gathered outside the court in support of Clancy, few have acknowledged the children by name. Mandel believes that the focus on Clancy's mental health and the show of support for her has overshadowed the victims of the crime.

Jonathan Hatami, a deputy district attorney, agrees with Mandel that the conversation surrounding the case has been centered on Clancy's behavior during the trial, rather than on the children who were killed. Hatami emphasizes that the case should be about the victims and what Clancy did to them, rather than about the defendant.

Expert witnesses have testified about Clancy's mental state at the time of the killings, with some suggesting that she was experiencing psychosis and others arguing that she was capable of forming intent. Closing arguments are expected to begin soon, and the jury will then deliberate on the case.

The trial has raised questions about the balance between supporting individuals struggling with mental health issues and holding them accountable for their actions. Clancy faces three counts of first-degree murder, and a guilty verdict could result in a lengthy prison sentence.
