Total Nonstop Action Wrestling's (TNA) pay-per-view event, Bound for Glory, featured multiple championship changes, including the world championship in the main event. However, one moment during the event left a negative impact on the company.
During his match against Moose, Max Caster made his TNA debut after previously competing for All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Caster is known for performing a rap song during his ring entrance, and he brought his lyrics with him to TNA. One line from his rap referenced the recent attack at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which left over a dozen people dead.
The reference to the attack sparked immediate backlash on social media, with many criticizing Caster for making light of the violent incident. In response, TNA issued a statement on Monday, stating that it had deleted all content related to Caster from its social media channels and would no longer welcome him at the company.
TNA apologized for allowing the insensitive comment to air during the event, stating that it should never have made it into the show. The company expressed its thoughts and condolences to the victims, their families, and those affected by the attack. Caster will no longer be wrestling for TNA.
The incident highlights the importance of sensitivity and respect in professional wrestling, particularly when referencing real-world events and tragedies.
