Conor Kennedy, son of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and grandson of the late Senator Robert F. Kennedy, married Brazilian pop star Giulia Bourguignon Marinho in a three-day celebration in Rio de Janeiro earlier this month.
The wedding festivities, which took place from October 8 to 10, included a blessing at the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue, a ceremony at the historic Igreja Nossa Senhora do Carmo da Antiga Sé, and a reception at a historic mansion in Jardim Botânico. The couple had officially married in a private civil ceremony in Los Angeles in March, according to reports.
Marinho, who is professionally known as Giulia Be, told an outlet that the couple wanted to celebrate not just their wedding, but also the city of Rio de Janeiro, which they love. She said that she had wanted to show Kennedy's friends and family a good time, and that the wedding was an opportunity to bring everyone together in Brazil.
The celebrations began with a welcome party in the hills of Alto da Boa Vista, followed by beach volleyball on Ipanema and a blessing at Christ the Redeemer, atop Corcovado Mountain. The reception took place at Instituto Brando Barbosa in the neighborhood of Jardim Botânico, which is home to the Rio de Janeiro Botanical Garden.
RFK Jr. shared family photos from the festivities on social media, showing the wedding party beneath the Christ the Redeemer statue, his wife Cheryl Hines pictured alongside samba dancers, and the newly married couple checking their phones for updates on a sports game.
