Joey Logano won Saturday's Cook Out 400 at Richmond Raceway, scoring his second victory of the 2026 Cup Series season.
Logano overtook Christopher Bell on fresher tires during the final laps and held off Chase Briscoe to secure his 39th career win. The victory came after a late surge by Logano, who has now shown a tendency to come alive in NASCAR's postseason.
The top five finishers included Briscoe, Austin Cindric, Denny Hamlin, and Chase Elliott, while defending series champion Kyle Larson finished sixth alongside Christopher Bell. Josh Berry, William Byron, Alex Bowman, and Tyler Reddick rounded out the top 10.
In other racing news, Carson Hocevar finished last after his engine blew following a mechanical issue caused by an accidental downshift from fifth to third gear. Zane Smith also struggled, finishing 36th after spinning out of control.
The win by Logano gives him momentum heading into the final two races of the Cup Series regular season, which will take place at New Hampshire on August 23 and Daytona on August 29. Shane van Gisbergen currently leads Ryan Preece by 40 points in the fight for a spot in the Chase.
