According to a passenger who witnessed the incident, the mother had dozed off and was on the verge of losing control of her child. The passenger, John Frehse, shared a photo of the flight attendant, Monique Harris, holding the baby on his Instagram account. Frehse praised Harris for her actions, saying she had "sprung into action" to catch the child and then offered to hold it so the mother could rest.
Frehse, who has flown over 2 million miles with United, described Harris as an "A+ employee" and encouraged the airline's CEO to take note of her actions. Harris responded to the praise in the comments, saying she was moved by the attention and that she had not expected to receive recognition for simply doing her job.
Republic Airways, which operates flights for United, praised Harris in an email to Fox News Digital, calling her an "extraordinary colleague and flight attendant." The airline also responded to Frehse's initial social media post, saying it was proud to have Harris on its team.
