A shooting inside a home in Gaston County, North Carolina, left two people dead and two others critically injured on Thursday morning. According to the Gaston County Police Department, officers responded to a 911 call reporting gunfire just before 8:45 a.m. and found four victims inside with gunshot wounds.
Two of the victims were pronounced dead at the scene, while the remaining two were taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said. A person of interest has been identified in the shooting, but no further information was released by authorities.
Investigations suggest that the suspect and victims knew each other, and that the shooting was an isolated incident. Police have stated that there is no known ongoing threat to the Gaston County community.
