Less than 24 hours after capturing their first World Series title, the Milwaukee Brewers continued their celebration at Lambeau Field, home of the Green Bay Packers.
Brewers pitcher Brandon Woodruff brought the Commissioner's Trophy onto the field at the end of the first quarter of the Packers' game against the Carolina Panthers. Teammates Christian Yelich and Sal Frelick joined in the celebration, with Frelick attempting a Lambeau Leap that drew a warm reaction from the Packers' fans.
The Brewers' victory parade is scheduled for Friday, with thousands of fans expected to line the streets in downtown Milwaukee. The parade will end with a fan fest at Henry Maier Festival Park.
The Packers, who have not won a Super Bowl since 2010, are likely hoping to build on the Brewers' success. However, they faced a tough challenge in Thursday night's game against the Panthers, who jumped out to a 3-0 first-quarter lead before the Packers responded with a 20-10 halftime lead.
The Brewers' Game 5 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays clinched the World Series title, making them the latest team in Wisconsin to win a championship. The Bucks won the NBA Finals in 2021, but the Packers have the longest championship drought among Wisconsin's major men's professional sports teams.
