Jack Pearadin, a longtime gem hunter and Navy reservist, has revealed details about his remarkable discovery at the Crater of Diamonds State Park in Arkansas. Pearadin found the gem, which he named the "American Dream," while processing a bucket of gravel collected from the park's search area in late December.

The gem, which weighs 6.03 carats, has a striking golden-yellow color and an unusual, almost square shape. Pearadin discovered the diamond during a January 25 TikTok livestream, and his reaction was captured in real time. He was recorded saying "Oh my God! Oh my God! We got a big one!" as he pulled the gem out of the pile.

Park officials have stated that they are not trained to grade or appraise diamonds, and those interested in having their finds appraised should reach out to a certified gemologist. According to Laura Stanley, a certified gem appraiser in Little Rock, a high-quality six-carat yellow diamond from the park could sell for about $250,000.

Pearadin has been searching for diamonds at the park since 2013 and has even moved to nearby Murfreesboro to pursue the hobby. He plans to split any profits from the sale of the "American Dream" with his friend, Michael Schumacher, who helped collect the gravel containing the stone. Pearadin hopes to use the money to open his own crystal mine.

This is one of several notable diamonds unearthed at the park this year, including a 3.09-carat diamond discovered by a grieving Pennsylvania woman and a 2.29-carat yellow diamond found by a Tennessee grandfather.
