Myles Gaskin has announced his retirement from the NFL at the age of 29. The running back made the decision public through a social media post on Thursday.
In the statement, Gaskin expressed his gratitude to the game and its fans, saying "Football...there will never be enough words to explain how I feel about you, so I won't even try." He also pledged to pass on his experience to younger players. The post concluded with a simple "Thank you. It's been real."
Gaskin spent seven seasons in the league after being drafted by the Miami Dolphins as a seventh-round pick in 2019. His last appearance was during the Seattle Seahawks' Super Bowl-winning campaign in 2025, where he played just one game and recorded six yards on three carries.
Prior to joining the Seahawks, Gaskin had stints with several teams, including the Vikings, Rams, Jaguars, Ravens, and Dolphins themselves. He played a versatile role throughout his career, rushing for over 1,300 yards in college and eventually becoming a starting running back in the NFL.
In total, Gaskin accumulated 1,360 rushing yards and 712 receiving yards with 13 touchdowns during his time in the league.
