Oregon head coach Dan Lanning has stated that he will take "appropriate action" in response to the arrest of wide receiver Evan Stewart on charges of driving under the influence.

Lanning made the comment during a press conference, adding that the situation would be handled internally. He declined to provide further details, saying that he would not respond to questions about the incident.

Evan Stewart was taken into custody early Sunday morning, hours after the Ducks had defeated Nebraska on Saturday night. He was booked into the Springfield Municipal Jail, according to police records. Stewart did not play in the game against the Cornhuskers due to an undisclosed injury.

The arrest has cast a shadow over the Ducks' win, according to Lanning. Stewart has been a key player for the team this season, with 27 catches for 352 yards and four touchdowns. He missed all of last season due to a right patellar tendon tear.

The Ducks are set to visit Illinois next, where they will face star quarterback Dante Moore's status is still unclear as he continues to recover from a concussion. Moore has missed the Ducks' past two games, but participated in practice leading up to their Week 6 matchup with UCLA.
