The Tennessee Titans' brief celebration of their first win of the season may have been short-lived, as the team announced the release of defensive tackle Jordan Elliott on Tuesday.
Elliott, who joined the Titans in the offseason after playing under current head coach Robert Saleh with the San Francisco 49ers, had appeared in five games this season, recording 11 total tackles.
According to the Titans, an incident occurred at the team's facility on October 15, but no further details were provided. The team's statement on the matter was brief, saying only that "following our review of the incident, we have made the decision to release Elliott from our roster."
The release comes as the Titans prepare to host the AFC North-leading Cleveland Browns at Nissan Stadium this week. The team's roster situation remains somewhat unclear, as defensive back Alontae Taylor did not suit up for the team's previous game due to a coach's decision.
Taylor, who signed a three-year, $58 million contract with the Titans in March, had recorded 19 tackles and one sack in the team's first five games of the season.
