McDonald's is bringing back its popular McRib sandwich for a limited time, but not all locations will be offering the item. According to the company, the McRib will be available at select restaurants in cities such as Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Atlanta, Philadelphia, and Dallas starting on October 27. Customers can check the McDonald's app to see if their local restaurant is participating.
The McRib was originally introduced in 1981 by Luxembourgish-American chef René Arend and was a permanent menu item until its discontinuation in 2012. However, it has been brought back annually as a limited-time item since 2020. McDonald's senior marketing director Guillame Huin welcomed the return of the McRib on social media, calling it a "legend."
The McRib consists of a boneless pork patty topped with tangy barbecue sauce, onions, and pickles, served on a toasted roll. While some fans are enthusiastic about the sandwich, others are less impressed. On social media, some users have described the McRib as "edible" or "just a sausage patty with BBQ sauce and pickles."
It remains unclear how long the McRib will be available, so customers interested in trying the sandwich should check their local restaurant's participation and act quickly.
